Steve Gears Associates is an independent training and consultancy company, in operation since 1999. The owner, Steve Gears
has been involved in the development, delivery and management of technical training since 1982 and has been
involved with the Internet and Internet business for the last three years. More

You can contact us by following this Contact link. However, please make sure you use
all the resources on this site first, to make sure you're not asking questions which we've already answered here.

| Do I need a computer to take your courses? |
|
All training materials are supplied in Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) which makes them readable on a
variety of operating systems such as Windows, Mac, and any Unix system with a PDF reader. They have also been formatted
so that you can print the course materials if you wish, so if you can access a computer you can either
read the course materials on screen or print them out, whichever is your preference. Some course modules are also
accompanied by resource documents which are supplied in Microsoft format (Word or Excel). In order to use these
documents as templates and edit them, you will need access to a computer which has software which will read the
Microsoft format (Microsoft Office97+, Lotus SmartSuite V9+, and so on). Alternatively you can print
the documents out and fill them in manually.

| Do I need to have any experience of the Internet to take your courses? |
|
For those courses based on the Internet, you need to be comfortable with using a web browser such as Internet
Explorer or Netscape Navigator. You should also be comfortable with sending and receiving emails. You also need to
have some basic experience with using a search engine such as MSN, AltaVista, or Ask Jeeves. Other than basic
familiarity, you will be taught whatever else you need to do.
For non Internet courses there is no real need for Internet familiarity other than to be able to find us to
purchase the course in the first place! :-)

Whilst we accept that we cannot possibly have intimate knowledge and experience of all industries, the main
thrust of our training modules is to give you the tools you need to harness your own expertise and industry
knowledge in more innovative ways than you may have otherwise considered, so that you can get the best out of your
existing skills and knowledge.
